Le projet Limes Arabicus vise à soutenir la conservation d’un fort romain, unique, magnifique et en fait le seul dans cet état dans le monde entier, il est complètement isolé en bordure du désert, et il menace de s’écrouler, bien qu’une bonne partie de l’édifice soit encore debout après plus de 17 siècles d’existence. Projet Qsar Bshir ( en anglais plus bas ) (english version below)
Le Qsar Bshir est situé à une dizaine de kilomètres de Al Qatrana isolé en bordure du désert – Il est unique car la majeur partie des murs sont toujours debout après 17 sciècles d’existence – mais il doit être rapidement préservé si on ne veut pas qu’il se dégrade – Le Qsar Bshir qui est en fait le Fort Romain Mobene – est le fort romain le mieux conservé au monde – comme indiqué dans le dernier National Geographic de septembre 2012.
Quelques personnes en Jordanie et en France souhaitent aider à la protection et à la conservation du Qsar Bshir, Elles ont fondés une Association sans buts lucratifs – Les Limes Arabicus
Les buts et objectifs de l’Association sont de rechercher du financement auprès du secteur privé et institutionnel, destiné à permettre à une équipe d’archéologues de réaliser une sauvegarde de ce fort
D’autre part à plus long terme, et dans une deuxième phase nous soutiendrons l’inscription des Limes Arabicus auprés du Patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO, comme le sont déjà actuellement les Limes en Grande-bretagne, les Limes du Rhin, et bientôt celles du Danube.
Actuellement l’Ambassade de France, l’IFPO et l’EBAF sont informés des démarches de l’Association.
Des archéologues Français et Américains ont été sensibilisés au projet.

Qsar Bshir Project
The historical Roman Fort “Qsar Bshir”, located about ten kilometers from Al Qatrana, lays isolated at edge of the desert. It is unique because amazingly the majority of the walls are still standing after 17 centuries. Nevertheless it is in dire need to be preserved or it will deteriorate quickly. Qasr Bshir is in fact the Roman Fort “Mobene” and is the best preserved Roman Fort in the world, as mentioned in the related article in National Geographic Magazine of 2012 September.
A few people in Jordan and France wish to assist in the protection and conservation of Qasr Bshir and to that end, in June 2012, founded a non-profit Corporation in France: Limes Arabicus (= The borders of the Eastern Roman Empire which include many Roman structures such as Qasr Bshir.)
The goals and objectives of the Association are to seek funding from the private and institutional sector to allow a team of archaeologists to research and protect this precious historical Fort.
In a second phase and in the long term we will support the inclusion of the “Limes Arabicus”, most of which are located in Jordan, with the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, as are already the Limes in Great Britain, the Rhine and soon those of the Danube.
